Your Calendar Doesn’t Lie

If I followed you around for a week…
would I be able to tell what you truly value?

Yes.

Because the calendar doesn’t lie.

But here’s the better question:
Would it match what you say you value?

So many leaders live in the constant refrain of “I’m busy.”
But they’re not moving things forward.

At least not their things… the things they value.

It’s a reactive loop.

Putting out fires.
Answering emails.
Jumping from one thing to the next.
Helping everyone else move their priorities forward.

I know because I was just there.

Spread thin. Constantly moving. No margin.

My life felt like a blur.

And when your life is a blur… you can’t focus on anything.
And if you can’t focus, you won’t do meaningful work.

You’ll just do… work (tell me that’s not your goal!).

So what’s the fix?
How do we get out of the rat race?

How do we get back to meaningful work?

First, you have to stop the wheel.

You cannot get clear when you’re moving 1,000 miles an hour.
Slow down. Get still. Breathe.

Second, you have to identify exactly what you want most right now.

Not ten goals. One.
NAME IT.

You can have multiple targets, but only one can be in charge.

What is it?
Write it down.

Then write this down:

Why does this matter?

Not in your head. On paper. Write it out.

Because on hard weeks, the goal itself won’t beat the resistance.
It gives direction, but not the strength to push through.

(And the resistance always shows up.)

Your why is what keeps you moving when you want to quit.

This is one of the first things I do with every client.

Before strategy. Before systems.

We get clear on what they want… and why it matters.

Because until that’s clear, everything else is noise.

Here’s your challenge:

Take 15 minutes today.
No phone. No email. No distractions.

Just you and a piece of paper.

Ask yourself:
What is the one thing I want most right now?

Write it down.
Then write why it matters.

Most people won’t do this.
But the ones who do… change the trajectory of their life.

If you can slow down long enough to do two things—
Name what you want.
Write down why it matters…

…and put it in front of you every day…

You’ll gain a level of clarity most people never experience.
And that clarity becomes fuel for everything else.

Reply back and tell me your one goal.
If I have something that could help you move it forward, I’ll send it your way.

Next week, I’ll show you how to make it stick and build real traction.

Working for your best,

Chris
